Have a December to Remember in Gilbert

December is a month filled with parties, shopping, events, family, friends, food, and a whole lot more! With so much going on, it can be hard to narrow down your options to maximize your fun in this month. We are here to make it easy for you! Here are some of our favorite holiday events going on this month around Gilbert.

Gilbert Art Walk

While Gilbert Art Walk is a year-round event, it takes on a whole new life during the Christmas season. Every Saturday in December, head downtown for the family and pet-friendly art walk, where you can enjoy live music as you stroll through the artwork of tons of local artists. You can get your Christmas shopping taken care of while supporting the work of your Gilbert neighbors! This is the best place to find handcrafted, one of a kind gifts for everyone on your list. The Art Walk also takes place at the same time and across the street from the Gilbert Farmers' Market, so you can grab a bite on the go!

A Christmas Carol

Charles Dickens' classic tale of redemption and love triumphing over greed, A Christmas Carol, comes to life this December at the Hale Center Theatre. Follow miserly misanthrope Ebenezer Scrooge as he is guided by the spirits of Christmas Past, Present, and Future to examine his life of self-centeredness and finds his way back to the joy of Christmas! One of the most famous Christmas stories of all time, A Christmas Carol is as relevant today as it was over 180 years ago. This production will feature beautiful period costumes, traditional Christmas carols, and everything you need to get you ready for the holidays!

Riparian After Dark

The Riparian Preserve is an important part of the ecosystem of Gilbert. It is also an absolutely stunning area of nature that will leave you in awe! During the day, you might spot one of more than 300 species of animals who call the preserve home. But during Riparian After Dark, nature really comes alive with the colorful lights of the holiday season! Check out the beautiful light displays and enjoy live music from local choirs, carolers, and other live entertainment. While Riparian After Dark is free, they ask that you bring a donation of new shoes, socks, blankets, food, or other necessities for those in need.

Hopefully you will be able to carve time out of your busy December for one of these events! If you do, be sure to let us know on Facebook or Instagram. And follow our blog here for more Gilbert goings on!
